Photo tour to the Anabar plateau with a visit to the Kotui River. In early spring, reindeer come to the Arctic and reach the very shore of the Arctic Ocean to give continuation of life to their offspring. Now they are coming back. Along the eastern part of the Putorana Plateau, crossing the Anabara Plateau, pass the largest herds of reindeer migrating from the Arctic Ocean to Yakutia and Evenkia. And we will witness the annual migration of reindeer.
Base
The base “Kotui – the home of the taimen” is located at the confluence of the two rivers Kotuy and Kotuykan. We offer guests excellent comfort and conditions for hiking and water travel. For a fisherman or a tourist, we provide the best equipment; guides will be able to fulfill the most demanding wishes of our guests. This trip will be the most beautiful and unusual journey. You will be surprised by the beauty of the Russian North.

11:00 – Departure by Mi-8 helicopter to the base “Kotui - the home of the taimen”, travel time is about one hour. Distance 150 km.
12:30 – Accommodation and lunch. Introduction to the base and its personnel, safety instructions.
15:30 – Optional short trekking to the opposite bank with a slight climb. An unforgettable view of the mouth of the Kotuykan River.
20:00 – Dinner.
09:00 – Breakfast.
10:00 – The entire group leaves for the deer migration area. We move along the river in open boats.
14:00 – Lunch on the river. The guides will prepare fish soup from northern fish.
15:30 – We watch wild animals, choose a place for subsequent photo hunting.
18-30 – We return to the base.
20:00 – Dinner.

10:00 - We go by motor boat to the previously selected area. We set up hunting spots for camouflage and conduct photo hunts. We let the animal get as close as possible. Our task is not to make noise, not to create loud sounds. The animal, as a rule, has never seen a person and behaves calmly. Moves away from noise or directly seeing a person.
14:00 – Lunch on the river: Individual lunch box. By agreement, the guides will prepare a hot lunch from local fish.
18:00 – We return to base.
20:00 – Dinner.

10:30 – Preparation for rafting on the river. Kotui.
11:00 – Start of the rafting. Along the entire route, tourists will see a river valley with unforgettable, vertical, white cliffs. The fast current of the river will carry the group along the entire route. The length is about 20 km.
14:00 – Lunch on the river. The guides will prepare a hot and tasty lunch. The fresh local fish and venison are amazing as always!
18:00 – We return to base.
20:00 Dinner.
10:00 – The entire group leaves on boats to the Ulakhan-Uoran rapids. The rapid is located 40 km from the base upstream on the Kotui River. Along the way, we enjoy the views and take photographs of vertical dolomite rocks with remains reminiscent of an ancient city. We watch the migration of wild reindeer.
11:30 – Upon arrival at the doorstep, light trekking.
14:00 – Lunch on the river. The guides will prepare fish soup from northern fish.

08:00 – Today the guests return to the village of Khatangu. We take a covered boat to the village of Khatanga. The waterway, about 250 kilometers long, will run along the lower reaches of the Kotui River. Today guests will see how a large mountain river will flow into the “boundless” tundra, connecting with the Kheta River and turning into the Khatanga River. It is with this name that the river ends up in the Khatanga Bay of the same name, which is part of the Arctic Ocean. With a visit along the way to the non-residential village of Kayak. In 2014, the polar village of Kayak was abandoned by people, turning into a ghost village.
